The Octahedron represents the element of Air and is linked to the Heart Chakra, which is the centre for love and compassion. This centre includes the healing and nurturing aspects within, which allow that sacred, safe space in which to find acceptance and forgiveness.
The Octahedron shape is also a mirror, a perfect reflection of itself, which is a lovely reminder of the mirrors/reflections that we are to each other. The Heart Chakra is also linked to touch, which is why this Platonic Solid would be best utilized for healing, manifestation, and energy work.
Due to the Octahedrons shape and nature, it would energetically work similar to a Double Terminated point. Energy will flow in equal portions from the two tips (top and bottom) with an additional, softer energy flow from each of the 8 side edges.
Hold the Octahedron when meditating to reflect upon situations and issues that need forgiveness and closure. Allow any feelings that may come up, acknowledging each one, understanding that it is a reflection to self in some way. When this session is completed, bring the Octahedron to your heart to begin the healing process. Visualize these feelings and emotions moving into the Octahedron and being held there. You can then either blow gently on one end to release these energies out into the Universe or cleanse the Octahedron by your preferred cleansing method. Holding an Octahedron in one hand (or both) in a healing session will allow the Heart to open and be cleansed of any and all energies that are not in line with the highest good of the client, in the gentlest of ways.The self-reflecting shape of the Octahedron moves us from the more physical, grounding shape of the Cube and Tetrahedron (which sit firmly, grounding us to the physical) into a higher vibration of reflection, compassion and healing. Through working with the Octahedron, we attune to the more spiritual nature of self and in effect begin to understand our true nature.

Beryl, ‘the mother of gemstones’ has a yellow variety very commonly called by the name Heliodor. Beryl is a well known gemstone occurring in various colours which include- pale green to blue (Aquamarine), the intense green Emerald, the pale yellow to yellowish-orange (Heliodor) and the pale pink to salmon colour (Morganite). Beryl is also found occurring as the colourless gem variety Goshenite as well as the very rare red beryl variety bixbite.
The word ‘Heliodor’ is derived from Greek language and it means the sun and gift with reference to its colour. The fine golden beryl variety which was minted from a particular location in South West Africa was initially referred to as Heliodor in the early 20th century with an aim to gain publicity. But today Heliodor is simply another name for yellow or golden.
Heliodor is a well known gemstone being famous for its ability to make one more compassionate and sympathetic towards others. The golden beryl improves one's intuition and improves one's communicative abilities. Heliodor is assumed to help strengthen and stabilize heartbeat and to help in the treatment of stomach disorders and disorders relating to the small intestines, liver, spleen and pancreas. The traditional concept related to Heliodor is that it is a remedy for idleness and so it was greatly used by people to avoid idleness to enable them to become active in their day to day life.

 the surface of another mineral, in this example the Prehnite grew over

 Laumontite.

Cryolite is an unusual mineral, if you place clear cryolite in water it looks as if it disappears, if you put translucent Cryolite in water it appears to be clearer and if Cryolite is placed in a flame, it melts. Cryolite is said to aid confidence, assist in public speaking and help with speaking disorders.

Cryolite is a highly spiritual crystal with a high vibration that has a powerful effect on the brain. Cryolite markedly energizes the prefrontal cortex of the brain and the third eye chakra, and is known as one of the more powerful crystals to aid Lightbody awakening.
